Studies in Paris and at St Martin's School of Art, London.

1953-57
Completes two years at the Royal Navy on National Service before attending the hublot big bang king replica Royal Collage of Art, London.

1957-59
Graduates and is awarded an Italian Government Scholarship. Begins to teach painting part time at Hammersmith School of Art in London.

1959-65
Teaches at Bath Academy of Art, Corsham.

1960
Receives the Gulbenkian Foundation Purchase Award.

1961
Works as an art critic for Das Kunstwerk, Berlin.

1963-64
Works as an art critic for Art International, Lugano.

1965
Begins teaching at the Slade School of Art, London.

1966
Appointed Member of Art Panel, Arts Council of Great Britain.

1967
Visiting Professor at the Minneapolis School of Art.

1968
Prizewinner at the 10th International Print Exhibition in Lugano.

1969
Prizewinner at the 8th International Print Exhibition in Ljubljana.

1973
Retrospective at the Tate Gallery, London.
